Poultry and Allied Limited is a government certified breeder and importer of Kuroiler FFG® chicks, a hardy multi-purpose breed originally from India.

Mission

We are turning the region’s subsistence poultry farmers into successful commercialpoultry farmers.

 

How?

We are revolutionizing the entire value chain starting with production by providing high quality chicks. These allow small-scale farmers to get started with lower investments, using their intuituitive knowledge and be profitable, fast. We also train and provide free support (technical and marketing)  to ensure they succeed.

Vision

We think it’s strange that eggs are the most expensive protein food, by weight, in the region. Or, that 1 in 3 women in the region suffer from iron deficiencies and 1 in 3 children is stunted in growth. These deficiencies can be addressed by eating an egg a day. Or, finally, that poultry farmers have to wait 8 months to eat a chicken (if it lives that long – most die early) or that most consumers can only afford chicken during ‘special occassions’. It’s sad.

We will not stop until malnutrition is eradicated in our region. We will not stop until chicken is the preserve of all, especially our customers who make up the majority of low income households. We will not stop until poultry farmers get fairly compensated for what is an incidental farming activity. THIS is our mission.

Operations

Our operation  focuses on production and sale of Improved Kienyeji chicks and provision of skilled farmer support. We are certified importers and breeders of Kuroiler FFG® known for faster maturity, higher egg production and disease resistance as compared to the indigenous chicken. Our main production facilities in Musanda, along the Butere – Musanda – Ugunja road.

We leverage on technology, skilled expertise and operational efficiency to bring low and middle income consumers high quality products, conveniently.
